Welcome to my website. Let me begin by telling you a little about myself. This is my thirteenth year of teaching: five years at the middle school level in Tinley Park, two years of teaching reading intervention at Three Rivers School, one year of teaching fourth grade here in Channahon at Pioneer Path School and five years of teaching mathematics here at the junior high. I have both an elementary and a secondary teaching certificate (k-12) with endorsements in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Computers. My husband, Henry, and I have three children who have gone through Channahon School District: Zac (Senior at Missouri Science & Technology Studying Mechanical Engineering); Ben (Freshman at JJC); and Madelyn (Junior at MCHS).

 

My goal is to help your child develop into a responsible, independent thinker who has a life-long love of learning. I hold high expectations for my students both academically and behaviorally. I work diligently to develop a classroom atmosphere that is respectful, cooperative, and compassionate.

 

In our classroom, students are seated in cooperative groups. The seating arrangement will be changed several times throughout the year. Activities throughout the day vary between cooperative group work, partnerships, and individual work. Individual accountability is always required.
